High Wire Act

A few weeks ago I went with my family to do an obstacle course near Deer Creek Reservoir near Heber City Utah. Looking at the contraption my family and I were about to spend the next two hours hanging on was pretty daunting. But like any "touristy" deal they give you about 5 minutes of safety training on the gear and tell you to have at it.

Well I took that as, everyone is looking at you, so don't be a sissy. So I hooked in and started moving through the maze. As I was hanging on for dear life there were a few moments of clarity. In that clarity, I was able to see my family as the wonderful, outgoing, and energetic team that we have become over the years. A dozen moves, lots of hellos and goodbyes, and a whole lot of faith are what have made our family tight.

Connecting to the cable reminds me of connecting to the word of the Lord. It helps me navigate the high wire act of life. Having the security that God gives you, provides you the confidence to move across unsure ground and through unsure phases of life. We find stability in an unstable world, when we are linked with God's word.
